Every day should be a Heyday!

One of the most rewarding things about being involved with the fashion and design industry is the great artist, designers and entrepuneurs I've been able to meet. I met Darin Hager years ago at a tradeshow in New York. Darin owns and is the lead designer for an ever evolving shoe line called Heyday. I take great pride in not only creating great products and items myself, but sharing my experiences with great products to others. The Heyday collection is a line I'm excited to share with you.

KEM is performing in Detroit

I had the opportunity to meet KEM (Motown recording artist) before leaving for Chicago. I wanted to share with you the following info involving an upcoming free concert he is putting on. His cause is great matching his musical talent. Below is an excerpt explaining the event and its purpose.

On August 30, 2009 we are producing an event called KEM LIVE @ MACK & THIRD: A CALL TO SERVICE - a live FREE concert in Detroit's Cass Park (across from Masonic Temple) that is open to the public and underscores a Food Drive & Fundraiser for the Homeless. This event will be BROADCAST WORLD WIDE via the internet and will tie into www.usaserve.gov

The purpose of this day long community service effort is to feed 500 homeless people and motivate them with a message from KEM (who was once homeless); to gather food for the area's community shelters & related organizations, and to encourage people all over the world to get involved with volunteering and giving. KEM hopes to bring attention to the plight of the homeless, motivate the community to get involved and to give people near and far a reprieve from the day-to-day stresses of the economy by providing 5 hours of FREE Live entertainment including performing for 1 hour himself.

We would appreciate if you would pass this proposal on to any of your constituents that you think may be interested in joining KEM and the many other corporate, media and community partners who have committed to serving the public and helping us make this initiative a success.

Check out the link to view an amazing performance by KEM performing at the Apollo.
